Jared Lascurain (A&M Consolidated), Amber Macha (CSHS), Regan Schulman (A&M Consolidated), Nathan Paine (Brazos Christian), and Savannah Troy (A&M Consolidated) each received a $2,000 College Arts Scholarship award from The Arts Council in May, totaling $10,000 in scholarship funding awarded this year.
Jared Lascurain, a digital artist, plans to attend The University of Texas at Dallas in the fall to pursue a career in 3D modeling, film and animation. Amber Macha will attend Texas A&M to pursue a career in music and education. Regan Schulman is focused on a degree in visualization and computer science and will attend Texas A&M as well. Nathan Paine will study graphic design at Mary Hardin-Baylor. Savannah Troy will start coursework at the University of Texas in the fall concentrating on photography and environmental conservation.
Graduating seniors in the Brazos Valley seeking further education in the arts at an accredited university qualify for this program. Each year The Arts Council accepts applications from students throughout the Brazos Valley and this is the first time that all of the scholarship recipients hail from College Station.
