Arts Council Announces New Artist in Residency Program

 The Arts Council of Brazos Valley is pleased to announce its new Artist in Residency Program to the public. This program encourages young artists to come to the Brazos Valley and provides a unique opportunity to focus on creating a body of work. Artists will receive mentoring from local professional artists to expand and enrich the artist’s creativity. At the conclusion of their residency, the Artist will display their work in a gallery exhibition.

The Artist in Residency program will take place from mid-May through August 15. The Artist in Residence will have access to Arts Center facilities as well as the Creative Space in the Federal Building in Downtown Bryan to create their works of art. There will be three mentorship session on how to install an exhibit, how to conduct sales and manage your financial affairs, and continuing education to provide valuable information from experienced artist in the area. During their residency, the Artist will receive a two bedroom apartment, generously donated by Twin City Properties.

The Arts Council of Brazos Valley is now accepting applications for the Artist in Residency Program. The application deadline is Friday, March 8th at 5pm. All current students enrolled in a visual arts program or recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
